UMICS Executive Positions Application

create your own story…

This year, create your own legacy as an executive on the University of Manitoba Indigenous Commerce Students. Develop your professional self by earning valuable experience and building lifelong connections.

I’ve been in UMICS for four years, and on the executive for two. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage in my Metis culture, learn about First Nations and Inuit culture, and join a thriving community while gaining experience that will be valuable in my future career as an accountant. My favorite part about joining UMICS is the friends I’ve gain that I know will last a lifetime.
— Kieran Saindon, Past President '17-'18

I was a member of UMICS for three years before I decided to get out of my comfort zone and run for an elected position in my final year. Throughout my term, I built strong connections in the Indigenous business community, developed my public speaking skills, and discovered more of my culture as a Métis individual. It is an experience I wish I could repeat.
— Riley Proulx, Vice President of Operation '18-'19

I had the task to maintain UMICS social media and promotional material while executing marketing strategies for UMICS. I had a great experience in my role, and it allowed me to flex my creative muscles and gain experience relevant to my education.
— Zachary Toupin, Vice President of Marketing '18-'19
