This groundbreaking event highlights the challenges and opportunities of Indigenous businesses while empowering students to develop innovative solutions. Don't miss this opportunity to support reconciliation and Indigenous business development in Manitoba!

The inaugural 2025 case competition was a resounding success. Gathering Indigenous students and non-Indigenous allies together to learn more about the unique challenges faced by Indigenous businesses in Manitoba. UMICS is proud to have featured Michif (Red River Métis), two-spirit woman Janelle Desrosiers and her business Bloom + Brilliance from Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, MB as the inaugural case.

  • Any undergraduate student registered at the University of Manitoba is eligible to apply regardless of faculty and ethnicity; however Indigenous applicants will be given preference.

  • No, participants are not required to be Indigenous.

  • Whether you’re new to case competitions or a seasoned vet, previous case experience is not required to participate in this case competition

  • If you have a team ready to go, you can register the together. Just make sure to have each team member submit a registration form!

    You can apply as an individual and we will do our best to place you on a team.
